Sometimes tuners take things too far, sometimes they miss the point entirely, and once in a while, they get things crazy right. This is one of the latter.

Pairing a Bangle-and-Pininfarina-designed Fiat Coupe with a heavily modified all-wheel-drive powertrain from a Mitsubishi 3000GT, this TotalRace-tuned car pushes nearly 1,000 horsepower to the wheels in a pint-sized package.

TotalRace is a Romanian outfit that typically turns their efforts toward more conventional installations, slapping turbos and superchargers on the typical selection of sports and supercars. This project, however, shows they not only have the skills necessary for serious custom work, but the evil genius minds to come up with a fantastically bad idea and make it work brilliantly.

  1. Very cool! The 6G72 was a monster engine but was always overshadowed by the 2JZGTE or RB26DETT. I think reputation played a huge role in the reception of these engines from tuners. Well, that and being transverse mounted I suppose.
