Between our spy shots, Cadillac's official video teasers, and spy videos captured by fan forums, there's not going to be much left for Cadillac to unveil except the official figures by the time the 2013 ATS rolls onto an auto show stage. But that's fine with us.

Looking, just as it should, for all the world like a smaller, sleeker CTS sedan, the ATS in the video below is being thrashed around within an inch of its life on the tribulating twists and turns of the Nurburgring's Nordschleife. Tires squealing, engine howling, slower cars being passed; it's near perfection.

Perhaps best of all, the car in the video doesn't look like the rumored ATS-V, which will pack either a 5.5-liter V-8 (the new generation of the LS engine series) or a twin-turbo V-6 engine. That means there's headroom for even more performance.
