If you've bought a truck you're probably a fan of the tough image, effortless torque and ample space afforded to you.
However, just because your truck is designed for heavy duty work it doesn't mean you shouldn't expect the high tech gadgets you'd find in regular cars. Chevy agrees, and the 2012 Chevrolet Silverado will be offered with WiFi, turning it from tough truck to mobile office.
The WiFi system is powered by Autonet Mobile, and it'll be available as a dealer-installed option. It's designed to provide full internet access for multiple users within 150 yards of your truck, so whether you're on site, up in the mountains or just hanging out by the beach you'll still be able to control your affairs over the internet.
Passengers will be able to use the WiFi while the vehicle is in motion too, so while you're on your way to your next destination your colleagues (or family, of course) can reap the benefits. There will be several apps available too, such as Find My Car, Geo Fence and Content Filtering, which makes browsing with your WiFi safer.
Chevrolet's Chris Rauser explains the benefits: "We are committed to helping customers improve their businesses. By adding WiFi and mobile office capability, the 2012 Chevrolet Silverado is packed with technology that provides the means for more effective, compromise-free work off site."
Chevy WiFi will be available on the 2012 Chevrolet Silverado, with a suggested retail price of $399.
