In his popular television show Mr Bean, actor Rowan Atkinson may have got around in a tiny Mini, but in reality, the British star actually drives around in hyper-expensive supercars, one of which is the ultra-rare McLaren F1.

Well, that was until yesterday when Atkinson lost control of the mega-dollar supercar on a wet patch of the A605 in Haddon, England, before reportedly spinning several times and crashing into a street sign.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident and the 56-year old actor had to be taken to Peterborough District Hospital due to a reported minor shoulder injury.

Thankfully, Atkinson didn’t suffer any major injuries though we can’t say the same for the car. After landing in a ditch it caught on fire though rescue crews did manage to put it out eventually.

Additionally, an onlooker said the left hand side door had to be cut away to remove the driver and most of that side of the car was also wrecked.

Incidentally, this is actually the second time Atkinson has crashed his McLaren F1. The first time was back in 1999 when he rear ended another car in Lancashire, also in England.
