Audi R8 V8 Limited Edition

To celebrate its recent win at the recent 24 Hours of Le Mans, Audi is releasing a limited run of custom R8 supercars based on the entry-level V-8 model. The only problem is that all 100 units planned will be sold exclusively in the UK.

The special edition models will be called the Audi R8 V8 Limited Edition and will only be offered as a hard-top. Customers will, however, be able to select either the standard six-speed manual transmission or the finicky R tronic automated manual.

Unique elements include a new titanium-effect paintwork option, custom alloy wheels borrowed from the more extreme R8 GT, red brake calipers and interior trim detailing also in red. Customers can also opt for a carbon package, which replaces the standard sideblades, engine bay frame, door mirrors and the door sills with lighter carbon fiber units.

Standard equipment includes Audi’s magnetic ride setup, satellite navigation, a Bang and Olufsen sound system and Bluetooth connectivity. Of course, there’s also a mid-mounted V-8 delivering 414 horsepower through all four wheels via the standard quattro all-wheel drive system.

Pricing will start at £93,935 (approximately $150,647) when order books open next month.

    Bad stuff?

  2. Since Audi introduced the V-8 Spyder last year all newly built V-8 R8's deliver 424 horsepower (430 PS), at least over here in Europe.
