A Subaru owner has seen fit to dispense with the roof of his bewinged 2011 WRX STI sedan and replace it with a custom convertible top. We ask only this: WHY?!

We, along with just about everyone but the owner/creator and Manchester Subaru, the dealership offering the car for sale, just don't get it. The STI is a fantastic performance sedan. Cutting its roof off and weakening the structure so skillfully constructed and stiffened defeats the purpose. Worse, it's priced at $89,999.

That means it's not even the fastest four-seat convertible you could get for the same money (BMW's 335is Convertible is $30,000 cheaper brand new), even before you get to the aesthetics. Let us know what you think in the comments below.

    with the top up it's bearable, just. With the top down it looks ridiculous.....I want one.

    This wasn't a customer or person, this was A SUBARU DEALERSHIP, they did it was publicity.

    hey Prevent: yes we realize it was a dealership who did this. Still, SOMEBODY had an idea, SOMEBODY built the car, SOMEBODY should be fired (or worse).
    Personally, I prefer the 'STI motor in a Forester' for publicity. That one at least IMPROVED the car.
