Stoked about the new 2012 Dodge Charger SRT8? Well, wait no longer: this video walkaround gives you the best look at the car yet, plus a bit of an idea of the hands-on experience.

Sure, there are some rough edges in the video, just as there are in the car--the water dripping from the exhaust tips in the opening engine-revving shot, for example--but on the whole, it's a good way to spend two and a half minutes on a Thursday evening.

    with the price of gas now and in the near future, the timing of this SRT-8 and models of high horsepower couldn't be any worse than it is now. People are now more concerned about fuel economy again. $4/gallon is not far away, and $5/gallon is not unrealistic anymore. Can you imagine paying $75 a fill-up and doing it twice a week?? Costs you as much or more in gas than the car payment itself!

    What is with the Mitsubishi front end? Ugly on them and ugly on this! The rest of the car is nice but still, Chargers should only have 2 doors, period!

    I have a 07 srt8 superbee edition,I love all the sheet metal changes except the front end.Doors and rearend are awsome.Go back to old front grill.Please!

    Sorry but I like last years model better. The Front of the RT looks better. What happened to the rake forward front end? I saw one in person in the parking lot yesterday and it did not give me the same "I gotta get one" like last years model. A step backwards...

    Chargers are supposed to be 2-doors not 4. What would have happened if Dodge brought the Challenger back as a 4-door? The Charger was an American Icon back in the 60's and 70's, I was excited when I heard it was coming back.........until I saw it. It doesn.t matter what they do to it I will never consider buying one untill it goes back to a 2-door car. Why not do it like the Challenger and bring back a retro version, say like the '68 or '69 style. When the Charger first came out it was nthing more that a Chrysler 300 with different body lines. The new Chargers are a discrace to the Charger name and Legacy. DO IT RIGHT DODGE, get rid of the 4-doors!!!!!!!!!

    uhhh... Is everyone in here on crack? This Charger is the best one since 1970. Everything after that was a heap and we'll leave it at that. By the way 4 doors outsell 2 doors. I'm sure Dodge is thinking about the guys who can't let go of the past when they're riding their biggest comeback in years.

    Is everyone high?? Dodge is not going to make thier flagship car a two door...thats what the Challenger is for. Also, if you're worried about gas mileage, get a freaking Prius...Clearly, this car would be too much for you.
    As for looks, thats opinionated. Personally, I think it looks great. If you want the front bumper bar to be body color, get the car in black.

    I love Mopar but the grill does need to change. They need to make it more of a retro look like they did with the Challenger. They need to base the nose off the old 68 Charger. That grill is similar to the New Challenger grill. The 69 and 70 Charger grills where heavy looking with all that chrome. The 68 charger was just right. Nice sleek menacing look. They also need to drop the side added door louvers. They looked ugly on the old 70 Charger. The indentations on the doors of the old cars looked good blending into the body lines of the rear quarters. If they retro'd the car more it would sell like the Challengers, Mustangs and Camaro. They need to drop the four doors and let it remain the iconic car it was instead of trying to redefine what the Charger was. If you want good gas mileage and a family four door then just look at the new Chrysler 300. I tlooks good and is just a few thousand more baseline than the Charger. If you get the new V-6 DOHC 300HP and 29 MPG. That should be Chrysler flagshio for a four door full size car. I only drive Mopars so I not hating but the company does need a change of direction on the Charger.

    I fell like many other Mopar/Charger fans, the car needs 2 doors. I have own many Mopars from the 60's and 70's. Why couldn't the new Charger be built like the 68,69,70 Coronets and Satellites were. There was 2 and 4 doors models made. I had many 2 door 71 Satellites that looked like Road Runners and GTXs , even while 4 door models were still being made. It seems you don't get to pick what you want on your car any more either like in the old muscle cars. I think the front end is way worse than the car next to it. The side looks better since they removed the rear body line and add the old 68-70 door lines. The best is the rear tail lamp/bar. The wheel look cheap,they could have used the the style of wheels like the ones on the Ram SRT. Chrysler and others look at what the Charger should look like at(www.creatingthelie.com) its a black Chager by Doug Schromm 2006.

    Put a small wing on it and make it a two door and call it a superbird. Keep the 4 door for the guys who want it. As to gas milage. It allread gets milage as good as most v6 cars and even some 4 cyl cars if you keep your foot out of it.

    this peeps must think just young folks buy these cars.2 doors which heavy and cumbersom are a hassel.you have to crawl over to use the back seat so not really a selling point for me.i have an 2010 with the hemi and as someone said if you buy this car gas was not an important consideration.i get 27 per gallon on trips since it cuts to 4 cylinders at cruse speed so keep your foot out of the gas trying to make a statement to people.wished i had waited till the 2011 came out love the new style.

    Interseting Look: I owned a 73 with a 440 and a friend had a 69 Charger 500 with a HEMI. I understand the idea behind the 4 doors, however if the idea is to be retro you really need to have 2 doors, this would be a good intro to a LE addition. Get rid of the blacked out grill. I do like the over all concept of the charger you also need more horse power.

    Was thinking about getting one to go with my challenger and my ram, but all the commets posted are right.The front looks strange for sure.Was hoping for a 69 look and a 2 door also.

    Dodge builds cars. Dodge has Americans buying American again.this car, with a good driver,will outperform a mustang gt while safely coddling a family of four and a trunk full of luggage.Ford stopped making the Crown Vic, so law enforcement will be all Dodge, 2 door cruisers do not sell.keep in mind this is a family sedan. several aftermarket body pieces are available, you can personalize your car if you want a look that is more for you.drive one of these, you will be blown away by the performance.Dodge Charger SRT8 is made for a guy who wants to get a hard on driving after he drops off the wife and kids

    OMG! I have a 2007 Charger that I love and will be due for a new car in 2012 - it won't be this Charger. That front end is butt ugly! I agree, it looks like a large mouth bass!

    Alot of people get confused with the high horse power and automatically think fuel guzzler!They only run on so many cylinders if your just cruising on the highway it uses 4,if you floor it then 8 cylinders open up just like a 4 barrell carb etc.These cars are actually decent on fuel.

    Yea,the nose could stand some modification,and Chargers were 2dr.cars.The Charger is a 4dr. family car now for the family man looking for a Sweet ride. Now,if you are looking for the Best Looking Retro car out there,and performance,stay at your Dodge Dealer.Yes it's still out of my reach,just as they were in the 60's when I spent 15 years under paid in a Chrysler - Plymouth Dealership.But,Nothing on the road comes close to the SRT-8 Challenger.Wish I had one!!! Conclusion,want 2drs.and the best looking car made today,buy an SRT-8 Challenger...

    Dear every moron complaining about the 4 doors,
    This is 2011. How many f^%!@#g 2 doors do you see on the road? They don't sell. If you want a 2 door, there is the Challenger. This is a sport sedan using the styling cues and nameplate of a popular 60s/70s favorite. By the way, you pinheads whining about big engines during high gas prices, when I bought my 2003 Hemi Quad Cab 4x4 RAM, I had to drive for 2 hours just to see one and paid full sticker because they were so hard to keep in stock. The price of gas at the time? Over $5/gallon...
