The Impreza Concept won lots of praise when the sheets came off the concept at the 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show, and it looks like Subaru might be working overtime to bring it to market with a production version possibly coming to the New York Auto Show.


The 2012 Impreza is expected to launch this year, with August targeted as the on-sale date, so an April unveiling makes sense, though it's earlier than anyone expected.

With its strong lines and decidedly un-Subaru-like demeanor, the Impreza Concept ditches the ungainly lines of the previous iterative models to bear the title, but is expected to feature similar performance and capability, though the Concept was shown in CVT form only.

The world is currently gearing up for the Chicago Auto Show, with Geneva to follow in March, but we'll keep tabs on the Impreza as New York's press days, April 20-21, draw nearer.

    the Impreza does not look like a Subaru, and thats a good thing. I dont understand why they headlights are blue tho.

    I think this was at LA Auto show also and I really liked it there!! One thing I could say though is it has some Volvo to the front end?? great profile seamless body looks great, this coming from a big Bimmer fan Subaru is raising their own bar!
