2012 Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale
The European sales launch of the 2012 Maserarti GranTurismo MC Stradale is just around the corner, due early in the first quarter of 2011, and with it, we have its European pricing: 154,721 euros. The U.S. launch is due shortly after Europe's, and though we can't know for sure, we may extrapolate a rough idea of what it'll cost this side of the Atlantic.
A raw translation of euros to dollars yields $204,247, but that's not how car prices work--we Americans routinely get cars, even supercars, cheaper than the rest of the world. How much cheaper? That's a matter of estimation.
Our estimates, based on the pricing of other Ferrari and Maserati vehicles sold on both continents, put the MC Stradale's price at about $160,000 for America. Wild guess? Possibly, but we don't expect it to be too far off the mark.
That's about a $35,000 premium over the current GranTurismo S sold in the States, and a justifiable expenditure given the boosted 450-horsepower output, higher 186-mph top speed, improved suspension and aerodynamics, and upgraded wheel and tire package. Not to mention it's the lightest, most powerful production Maserati currently available, and a limited-edition model. And dead sexy.
