Lamborghini Aventador SuperVeloce (SV) Leaked

Follow Viknesh

A new Lamborghini Aventador variant is coming: the long-awaited SuperVeloce, which has been spotted completely undisguised during a photo shoot in southern Europe. This means the car’s world debut can’t be far, with the 2015 Geneva Motor Show in early March likely to be where we see it in full for the first time.

Mysterious Aventador prototypes have been spotted testing for the past two years, with the most recent test car featuring a rear section like the one seen in the photo above, which you can see in full over at Automobile. The car appears to be sporting new vents, a massive rear spoiler and a very aggressive rear diffuser.

Lamborghini only applies the SuperVeloce title (SV for short), on its most extreme models, and this Aventador SV already appears much more extreme than the stock version. If previous SV models like those based on the Miura, Diablo and Murcielago are any indication of what to expect, look for less weight and more power. The Murcielago SV, for example, weighed 220 pounds less than stock but packed around 30 horsepower more.

Lamborghini’s 6.5-liter V-12 fitted to the Aventador develops 691 hp, but more potent versions of the engine exist. In the Aventador LP 720-4 50° Anniversario power was dialed up to 710 hp, and in the Veneno the same engine produces as much as 740 hp.

The Geneva Motor Show gets underway March 3, so we should have more details on the Aventador SV soon. To see what else will be at the show, head to our dedicated hub.
