ProCharger Supercharger On The Way For V-6...
File this one away in the "too much is not enough" pile--Shelby has just introduced a new package for the 2011 Ford Shelby GT500. This aftermaket package adds styling cues and an optional tuned engine that makes 800 horsepower.
Dubbed Super Snake, Shelby will sell only 1,000 of these packages, built either at its Las Vegas facility or at one of its Shelby Mod Shops throughout the country. Sales start this month.
Shelby worked with Ford Racing to develop the Super Snake, which has features such as optional white stripes and side scoops. Other available features include a lowered and tuned suspension, a 6-speed manual transmission, a 3.73 rear axle, a supercharger kit that pumps out 660 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque, another supercharger kit that makes 750 horsepower, yet another kit that makes 800 horsepower, a Borla exhaust, a handling pack, 20-inch wheels, a short-throw shifter, upgraded brakes with cross-drilled and vented rotors, cooling ducts for the front brakes, and all kinds of Shelby badging and lettering.
These goodies don't come cheap--the price for the 750 horsepower kit, including installation but not including the car, will set you back $30,245. All Super Snakes will be listed in the official Shelby registry.
