Bonus Gallery: 2011 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG

Follow Nelson

You've already seen the 2011 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG, and you've already combed through the full spec sheets, but now you've got another opportunity to ogle the super sedan thanks to a fresh dump of photos straight from Mercedes--this time focusing on the powertrain, with cutaway diagrams of the engine and turbo system.

The 571-horsepower twin-turbo V-8 S63 AMG would be our choice even against the sonorous V-12 of the S65 AMG, though fortunately whichever engine you choose, you'll get essentially the same styling and comfort.

And it's mighty handsome styling if we do say so. It's not cutting edge or avant garde, to be sure, but it's modern-yet-classical with just enough flair to let other roadgoers this is one exec you don't want to mess with.

  1. Nelson, i cannot believe you actually drove this car based on your review.
I traded my 2008 S63 AMG in for the 2011 S63 AMG, wow what a disappointment, the 2011 cannot compare, its squishy pedal under foot has absolutely no feel. The marriage between the engine and transmission is missing. The transmission is clunky, jerky and erratic. This car is so disappointing that i have a hard time getting into it and driving.
This will be a short lived and money loosing purchase, don't waste your time or money on this car, find a clean 2008 and you'll be happy.
