Race car beds. Many of us had them as kids, and were loathe to give them up until the prospect of staying forever single began to outweigh our nightly fantasies of piloting an F1 car. But now you can relive the fantasy the next time you're in Stuttgart, courtesy of the V8 Hotel.

With a range of car-themed rooms and beds, the Meilenwerk-district hotel offers first-class accommodations with a gearhead flavor. From sleeping in the engine bay of an American land-yacht to a the front porch of a Route 66 roadhouse, there's something for everyone with a love of a cars and a high tolerance for kitsch.

The stay will cost you dearly, however, with prices from about $487 per night. With just 34 rooms, the prices need to be high.

Even the exterior of the hotel carries the theme forward, looking rather like an elaborate dealership with classic sports cars parked outside. For those that like the hotel but can't stand to have their room dressed up like a 6-year-old's dream, there are regular rooms in classic Bauhaus style.
