New 2011 Ford Explorer Teasers Released As Facebook Unveiling Nears

We're just a few short days away from the July 26th unveiling of the new 2011 Ford Explorer, but today the agony of drip-fed teasers is dulled a bit by Ford's announcement that it has met its 30,000-fan goal for the new Explorer's Facebook page, and will therefore be giving away one of the crossovers to one of those fans. They've even unveiled a new teaser of the Explorer's grille as a sort of thank you.

The move is all part of Ford's Facebook launch strategy. Though we initially expected a Facebook-only launch, Ford has since announced a multi-city unveiling to be held across the continent next Monday. But if you're not in New York City, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, Washington DC, or Toronto, you can still keep pace online.

Ford will be launching a new "sweepstakes" tab on the Facebook page to coordinate the giveaway. As the company posted on the fan page, "Congratulations Explorer fans! We hit 30,000 fans and Ford is excited to give away an all-new 2011 Ford Explorer. Stay tuned for the launch of our sweepstakes tab, so that you can enter for your chance to win. We promise you'll be the first to hear about it."

  1. I think we might see a few of the American Fords replace major makes from down under Territory with new Explorer and Oz specific Falcon with Taurus.
