The Ultima GTR may not look like a world beater but the British-built supercar has racked up a string of first place titles over the years, including having the fastest lap time set by a production car for the Top Gear circuit. The time posted for the standard production Ultima GTR720 road car around the famous track was 1m 12.8s, more than four seconds faster than the previous record holder, Koenigsegg’s CXX on 1m 17.6s.

Other spectacular stats include the car’s 0-60mph time of just 2.6 seconds, the famous 0-100mph-0 time of 9.4 seconds and its sub-10 second quarter mile time of exactly 9.9 seconds at a final trap speed of 143mph.

Unfortunately, you would never know the potential the Ultima GTR offers just by looking at it. Resembling a homemade kit car rather than an extreme performance thoroughbred, the Ultima GTR is in desperate need of a makeover.

Design firm Racer X Design has come up with at least one proposal, unveiling the new RZ Ultima concept. Essentially, the RZ Ultima concept is intended for those who want all the performance that the GTR offers but with a more refined look.

Based on top of the GTR existing chassis, the styling was designed to leave the chassis and running gear untouched. The best part is that Racer X Design is willing to build this car for any existing Ultima GTR owners.
