Michelin has launched the new Pilot Sport 3 to replace part of its Pilot Exalto and Pilot Sport 2 ranges, the latter being the tire of choice for the Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1 supercar and recently revealed Cadillac CTS-V Coupe.

According to Michelin’s own test results, the new Pilot Sport 3 tires holds the road better than its predecessor when cornering and stops up to 10 feet shorter.

The new Michelin Pilot Sport 3 tires are also some of the most flexible in the industry, capable of fitting sporty hatchbacks and large, powerful saloons as well as sports cars. Some of the cars it will be appearing on include the Audi A5 and Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG.

In addition to this broad range of applications, the Michelin Pilot Sport 3 is designed to be a truly global tire. It will be available in South America, Europe, Africa, the Pacific and Asia later this year and should be on sale in the U.S. be early 2011.

  1. You gotta love them tires. Good job Michelin man.

  2. and only $500 per tire! awesome deal! lol

  3. Those sound like awesome tires... But what's the treadwear rating? I don't mind paying for performance as long as it lasts more than 10 minutes.

  4. I really hope these tires fit my Prius hatchback, but you said they're pretty flexible so I'm not too worried. I'm in need of some new tires and I heard these tires are part of Michelin's Green X tires that are supposed to help increase fuel economy. Even though I already have a hybrid anything to get a few more miles out of my car helps.
