Mystery Cadillac compact sedan

A suspicious compact sedan prototype with some very Cadillac styling overtones and heavy camouflage gear over the crucial parts has been spotted testing in the U.S., suggesting that the upcoming XTS flagship sedan isn’t the only new model GM’s luxury division is working on.

Over the past 12 months there have been numerous reports about Cadillac launching a new sub-CTS model rumored to be called the ATS, and the prototype in this latest spy shot certainly looks like it could be a possibility.

However, there are also claims that Cadillac is planning to introduce a plug-in hybrid luxury sedan based on last year’s Converj concept car. The window profile on the prototype looks very similar to the one on the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze and considering the Converj shares the same platform as the Cruze, there’s a strong possibility that this could be a toned down version of the striking plug-in hybrid concept car.

You can be sure we’ll be keeping you up-to-date on the progress of this mysterious Cadillac compact sedan prototype.

  1. ATS with a high powered turbo 4 would be good since BMW is bringing them.

    Bad stuff?

  2. A lot of people on GMI feel this is a fake; however, some of you guys clearly know the answer because you've already been shown the car a few months back. Albeit it was in coupe form (I read), but whatever.
