Mercedes-Benz iPhone

Earlier this month we saw the launch of a new Mercedes-Benz application for the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch called Silver Star, which is essentially a program outlining the automaker’s Museum highlights back in Germany. Now, Mercedes-Benz Financial has launched a new program also for the iPhone and iPod Touch that allows you to make a payment on your Mercedes-Benz vehicle.

The app is aimed at customers who have a loan or a lease with Mercedes-Benz Financial and enables users to view their account status, make a payment and get a payoff quote on their vehicles. However, even if you don’t own a Mercedes you can still use the app to check out the brand’s full lineup, find the nearest dealer or get driving directions.

The free application is available at www.itunes.com/appstore and customers first have to register at www.mercedes-benzfinancial.com before they can use it.

According to Mercedes-Benz Financial senior marketing manager Michael Kanzleiter, nearly three-quarters of Mercedes owners use a smart phone and a third of these use Apple products. However, a similar application designed for Blackberrys will be available within the next six months.
