Many of our readers may have never heard of HSV or Holden for that matter, but what you see hear is General Motors Company’s [NYSE:GM] premium rear-drive platform, commonly referred to as Zeta, undergoing real world testing down in Australia. Holden is GM's local division in Australia and HSV, its performance arm.

The previous model HSV and Holden vehicle was the car that the current Pontiac GTO is based on. This is the car, scheduled for release later this year that the all new Camaro and GTO will be based on. The car seen here is most likely running a 6.0-litre version of the LS2 V8, developing about 400bhp (297 kW) and possibly GM’s new 6-speed auto.

Sporting a fully independent rear suspension for the first time and rumored to utilize the same Magneride suspension found in the Corvette, this should be one smooth operator.
