New Smart roadster gets the Gordon Murray touch

UK engineering firm Project Kimber plans to build a new version of the Smart roadster lead by famed McLaren designer, Gordon Murray. Production of the new car is scheduled to start next year with an annual output of 8000 units and will be distributed under the AC brand. The team, which includes Visioneering's John Piper, who worked formerly with several F1 teams, will be based in south Wales. Whether the new roadster will become a hardcore performance racer is still up in the air, but with two high-ranking race car engineers on board, we sure it’ll be a ripper.
