Saab's aggressive new 9-3 Cabrio scooped

Just a week after the previous Saab 9-3 spy photos, an eagle-eyed car lover has managed to snap pictures of the 9-3 facelift sans disguise using his camera phone. The new photos reveal more aggressive styling front and rear compared to the previous model, which was almost universally panned by critics.

Mechanically, the updates to the 9-3 are even more significant. First up, Saab will be introducing an AWD system sourced from Haldex that’s rumoured to feature a new electronic differential. The new diff is said to be better suited at distributing force during slides and contributes to stabilizing the car around corners.

In addition to the new AWD system, Saab engineers have upgraded the turbo V6 engine, which is expected to output close to 300hp in the new Aero model. Visual enhancements include the new clear, vertically stacked taillights on the wagon model. Up front, the car picks up chrome highlights surrounding the headlamps and a new grille design inspired by Saab’s Aero X concept.

The launch date for the updated 9-3 is scheduled for mid may with official images set to be published by the first week. For more photos, check out Auto Motor & Sport Sweden.

  1. It\'s good this site is conceptualize, I\'m pretty sure that a lot of Saab enthusiasts would really appreciate this. I myself would like to visit this page for any update about Saab, etc. Its a relief that we have our trusted online source on car buying, etc. That\'s also how I got my Saab ball joints and it\'s really durable that I still have \'em till now...Anyway, good luck and keep going!=)
