Lancia’s portfolio is set to expand with several hot models supposedly making a return. Names like Aurelia and Delta are currently being tossed around the rumor mill, and AutoExpress is reporting that the brand will return to the UK with a new flagship model based on Maserati’s new GranTurismo.

Likely to revive the Aurelia badge with a new version of the original convertible (pictured), Lancia will build a new coupe-convertible model to rival cars like the Jaguar XK and Lexus SC430 in both performance and price. Picking up the same mechanicals as the GranTurismo, the new Aurelia will feature a V8 powertrain with drive sent to the rear wheels. Early reports suggest the car will make its debut within the next 18 months, possibly at next year’s Geneva Motor Show.

Joining the Aurelia will be a new version of the legendary Delta based on Fiat’s Bravo hatch. Last year, Fiat released a concept version of the Lancia Delta that was co developed with Magna-Steyr in Austria. The car is expected to be launched next year with a range of petrol and diesel engines ranging from 1.4 to 2.0L.

  1. One of the most interesting cars I've ever seen - from a purely aesthetical point of view - is the Lancia Theta. Just... interesting... from all angles... I understand why those cars don't come to the USA but I'm sure I'm not alone in wishing we'd see one of them rolling down the street now and then among your everyday Camrys and Accords...
