Lamborghini’s new jetfighter-inspired supercar has finally broken cover and we can now reveal that the €1 million supercar will be called the ‘Reventón.’ The car will be manufactured in a limited run of just 20 copies and is powered by a 650hp 6.5L V12 engine. Peak torque stands at 660Nm and drive is sent through the permanent Viscous Traction AWD system via Lamborghini’s e-gear transmission. As in the original Murciélago LP640, the Reventon accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds and has a maximum speed of over 340km/h.
Though based on the Murciélago LP640, the new Reventón features a new body and an army
green interior. Carbon-fiber is used extensively for the body with the panels glued and riveted to a chassis, which blends both composite materials and steel in its construction. The front is characterized by the acute angle of the central ‘arrow’ nose cone, which is flanked by the forward-facing air intakes.
The engine hood is made from glass laminate and features a marked arrow angle. Other unique details include the fuel-cap, which is milled from a solid aluminum block. Up front, the Reventón uses seven LED for the daytime running lights and another nine for the indicators.

Just wait for the forthcoming SV, similar or most likely better power with a more easy going face.

BTW, I think Lamborghini might want to rethink the name Reventon which loosely translated means BIG EXPLOSION in Spanish. As in what happens when you hit a wall at 200mph.

The Murcielago has almost the same performance and looks for less than a third of the price?
Am I missing something perhaps?

Yes you are missing something. This is an excellent way for Lambo to explore styling options for future cars. If the cars sell well, then Lambo knows it is a good style, If they don't, then they become collector cars like the Alfa Bats.

You know what they say about a fool and his money...

and, Gus, there´s always a need for special editions, it´s good for the profit :)
Some rich people don´t care if the car is the same, if it´s a special edition with some decals on it they´ll pay double as much as the standard model...

Still, this car doesn't exactly get me in the party mood. It looks great, but come on it's basically a Murcielago with a new shell--certainly not worth shelling out a whole $1.2 million extra for the look & the exclusivity of owning one. I'd rather buy a McLaren with that money; or a Prius (saving the world and my money in the process).

3.4 Seconds? Seriously? The Veyron does it in 2.1.
