Another day, another Subaru WRX STI teaser
This is the third official teaser of the new Impreza WRX STI and like the first two there’s not much to be seen. It looks like Subaru doesn’t want us to see the styling of the new car until its debut at the Tokyo Motor Show at the end of this month but from what we can gather the differences between it and the regular WRX will be minimal.
Key changes will be the new pumped guards, unique alloy wheels and STI badging. We’re sad to report the ugly clear lens taillights from the standard Impreza hatch will also feature on the STI, as revealed by this
earlier teaser. You can also check out previous spy shots of the car testing at the Nurburgring by

Subaru will be sticking with its symmetrical AWD system and there’s no major updates planned for the 2.0L boxer engine except for a jump in power to around 300hp (225kW). Compare this with the
new Evo X from
Mitsubishi, which gets an all-new engine as well as the S-AWC drive torque and brake force controller and you start to feel just a little bit sorry for all the STI fans.
