Following the release of several official teasers earlier this week, new images of the 2009 Nissan Maxima have surfaced revealing the car in complete detail. Scheduled to be unveiled at this week’s New York Auto Show, Nissan’s seventh generation Maxima showcases a completely new look for the volume seller and a marked difference to the styling of Infiniti’s G35 sedan, which has been criticized of late for looking too similar to its Nissan sibling.

The new sedan will once again benefit from Nissan’s award winning VQ series of V6 engines but an all-new diesel powerplant is expected to debut towards the end of the decade. In addition to the new diesel mill, a hybrid version based on Toyota’s Synergy drive will also be available.

  1. The back looks decent but I don't like the front. The older one looked sooo much better. :(

  2. So they made it look different from the G35 - what about the 350z? That always looked more like an Infiniti G to me.

The interior, IMHO, still looks like an Infiniiti, especially the the Nav part of the center stack.

    Headlights are really unique.

  3. im so glad they finally did an all new design.. the last couple generations were just reworkings of the same design study.

THIS LOOKS HOT. looks ready for business.

  4. wow this is really sad car, the front of the car looks like a toyota tundra while the back has taillamps like the toyota yaris

  6. sort of lke a Lexus IS in shape with Lancer nose.
I think that its a good shot at being competetive. I dont know abotu the lights though....they look too overinvolved !

  7. Oh great! Another styling exercise from the Ian Callum XF design school. Are all designers today graduates from there?
