It was only a week ago that we saw a hardcore version of the all-new, sixth-generation Camaro testing at the Nürburgring that we think might be badged a ZL1, or if labeled something else at least sit in the Camaro hierarchy where the previous ZL1 sat. Now a second Camaro prototype has been spotted at the ‘Ring, a prototype that could be for a new generation of the track-focused yet somewhat affordable 1LE.

Shown in this video from YouTube user cvdzijden, the new Camaro prototype appears to have the same front bumper as the SS but if you look closely there’s a new front splitter, a new rear spoiler and some very wide rear wheels. One of CamaroSix’s sources was the first to claim that the car testing is for the new 1LE or a 1LE equivalent.

If accurate, expect this car to feature a few hand-me-downs from the ZL1 model also testing, together with a blacked-out hood and the same 455-horsepower 6.2-liter LT1 V-8 engine fitted to the stock SS. Hopefully the price tag will still come in under $40k, which is possible considering the 2016 SS starts at $37,295, with shipping. The last 1LE was priced a little over $37k.

Stay tuned for an update.
