So just what is the Tru 140S Concept? Well, as our man Joel Feder found out at the car’s 2012 Detroit Auto Show debut, it is a sporty front-wheel drive coupe with 2+2 seating and is aimed directly at the Hyundai Veloster and Volkswagen Scirocco sold overseas.
Sharing a platform with the Chevy Cruze and Chevy Volt, the Tru 140S packs a surprising amount of technology into what would likely be an affordable package should the car ever enter production.
Power comes from a direct-injected and turbocharged 1.4-liter engine, complete with stop-start technology for maximum fuel economy. That exterior paint job is a special matte white finish and those wheels are Chevy chrome units wrapped with performance rubber.
