McLaren F1 crash in Germany

The McLaren F1 is considered by many to be one of the greatest cars of all time and to this day it’s still the fastest naturally aspirated production road car in the world.

With only 106 examples ever built, it’s also safe to say that the McLaren F1 is one of the rarest cars of the modern era. So it pains us to report that one of these rare beauties has come out a little worse for wear following a high speed accident, which took place on Germany's A48 autobahn last week.

According to local authorities, the bright blue McLaren F1 was speeding down the stretch of autobahn when it suddenly swerved to avoid slow moving traffic and ending up clipping two parked cars. The maneuver looked to have saved the car from complete annihilation but the damage seen here, although not appearing to be too drastic, is still estimated to cost upwards of $130,000 to repair.

Police have taken details, and the driver is currently being investigated for driving without due care and attention. Fortunately, no-one was injured during the accident.
