Californian tuner Unplugged Performance burst on the scene in 2014 with a range of upgrades for the Tesla [NSDQ:TSLA] Model S. This is a company that specializes in Tesla products and deals primarily with aesthetic mods.
Unplugged Performance is now turning its attention to the Model X and on Tuesday at the 2016 SEMA show provided a first look at some of the upgrades it’s offering for the Tesla electric SUV. The list includes aesthetic tweaks for the exterior, new trim options for the cabin, stiffer suspension, and a carbon-ceramic brake package.
For the exterior, there are the more aggressive front bumpers, trunk lid spoiler and 22-inch light alloy wheels. For the interior, Unplugged Performance offers various trim options including carbon fiber and leather.
As for the carbon-ceramic brakes, these have been developed with Brembo and are designed for the front axle of the Model X. They include 6-piston calipers instead of the standard 4-piston set and help reduce unsprung weight by about 20 pounds. They don’t come cheap, though. The starting price is a cool $8,995.
