At this year's Concourso d'Eleganza at Villa d'Este in Northern Italy, design house Zagato celebrated its 60th anniversary of working with British automaker Aston Martin.
To mark six decades of collaborations, Zagato debuted its stunning Vanquish Zagato concept, but it is certainly not the first of its breed.

Here's a rundown of some of the latest model's more notable predecessors:
- 1960 DB4 GT Zagato: In response to Aston Martin's quest for a lighter version of its DB4, Zagato was commissioned to build what eventually became one of the most collectible sports cars ever. Just 19 remain today of the ultra-light DB4, commanding upward of $15 million on the rare occasion when one is offered on the open market.
- 1985 V8 Vantage Zagato and 1986 V8 Volante Zagato: More than two decades later, Aston Martin and Zagato renewed their relationship with a number of limited-edition examples of the automaker's reborn, V8-powered grand touring cars. Fewer than 100 off the hardtop Vantage and convertible Volante were built.
- 2011 V12 Zagato: Not only was the V12 Zagato a looker, it was also a legitimate race car. Aston Martin took it to the 24-hour race at Germany's famous Nürburgring, where it broke a record for the automaker.
- 2014 Virage Shooting Brake: Commissioned for an unnamed European customer, the Virage Shooting Brake was a mix between Italian style and British practicality.
