The new GT350 makes its debut this week at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show, but we’ve already had a close up look and now we have some new video footage to bring you. That sound you here in the video above is a brand-new 5.2-liter V-8 complete with a flat-plane crankshaft.

The engine, which will make more than 500 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque in its final form, is billed as Ford’s most powerful naturally-aspirated V-8. It’s also the Blue Oval’s first with a 180-degree, flat-plane layout which gives it that distinctive sound.
There are also a host of other chassis and drivetrain mods to go with the new engine, including a lightweight six-speed manual transmission, Torsen limited-slip differential, carbon fiber reinforcements, a wider front track, magnetorheological dampers, and new spring rates and bushings. The wheels are 19-inch aluminum-alloy pieces shod with custom Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, and inside these sit Brembo brake calipers (six-piston front and four-piston rear) biting two-piece cross-drilled discs.
We’ll have to wait until closer to next year’s launch to discover the performance specs, but for now, just sit back and enjoy these new photos and videos.
