The 2017 Jaguar XE sedan remains two years away from its American on-sale date, but today, at the car’s official unveiling in Paris, Jaguar’s U.S. vice president of communications & public affairs, Stuart Schorr, confirmed some of the details of the U.S.-bound version of the car.
Among those key details are availability of both gasoline and diesel engines, both rear- and all-wheel drive, and a range of four- and six-cylinder engines.
While the intervening two years, as well as various changes for the U.S. market, may see specifications for America’s production XE vary somewhat, Jaguar also released a full slate of information for the European-spec Jaguar XE today—as well as a host of new images.

Two core variants were announced today: the XE, and the XE S. The XE gets its drive from a 160-hp 2.0-liter Ingenium diesel four-cylinder. The XE S sees a 3.0-liter supercharged V-6 under the hood, rated at 335 hp.
In XE S trim, the 2017 XE can accelerate to 60 mph in just 4.9 seconds, according to Jaguar.
For Europe, at least, Jaguar also plans a range of trim levels, including SE, Prestige, Portfolio, R-Sport, and S.

Among the other features and details confirmed for the Jaguar XE sedan range are an optional Head-Up Display (HUD); 8-inch touchscreen display with iOS and Android app functions; a forward facing stereo camera system for 3D safety data, including autonomous braking ability; and an all-new All Surface Progress Control traction system.
Expect more details about the 2017 Jaguar XE as it will reach the U.S. market over the coming 24 months.
