The current W204-series C63 AMG is on its way out, set to be replaced by an all-new model based on the 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class. In celebration of its greatness, Brit journo Chris Harris has released this tribute video. Oh, and it features the brutal Edition 507 run-out model, which, as you may have guessed, came packing 507 horsepower instead of the standard model’s 457.

The new output meant the car could hit 60 mph in just 4.1 seconds, and its top speed was limited at 174 mph instead of the standard 155-mph limit. As Harris explains, this makes it comparable in performance to the BMW M3 and sufficient enough to make an Audi RS 4 seem bland.

The current C63 AMG is likely to have a completely different character to its upcoming replacement, however, which is widely expected to go the downsized, turbocharged route. Sadly, we may never again see a small sedan or wagon packed with a big, naturally aspirated V-8 pumping out north of 500 horses.
