This year Toyota competed for the second time at the 24 Hours of Le Mans with its modern TS030 Hybrid prototype, and although the outright win went to Audi the lessons learned from competing helps incredibly towards the team’s preparation for next year’s race as well as the full season of the World Endurance Championship.

The number 8 TS030 Hybrid, driven by Anthony Davidson, Stéphane Sarrazin and Sébastien Buemi, finished a respectable second, while the number 7 car, driven by Alex Wurz, Nicolas Lapierre and Kazuki Nakajima, just missed out on a podium finish at fourth. Such a result confirms the impressive reliability of the TMG-developed race cars and demonstrates how much hybrid technology has become an integral part of world-class motorsport.

In case you missed the race, or you just want to relive some of the best moments, Toyota has released a new short film that charts its team’s challenge at Le Mans this year. Titled The Ultimate Endurance Race, the film charts all the twists and turns, on and off-track, and captures the special atmosphere of the world’s most famous round-the-clock race.

The short film is also dedicated in honor of Danish driver Allan Simonsen who died from injuries sustained in a tragic crash at this year's race.
