Prices for the V-10-powered supercar are on the rise. The 2014 SRT Viper’s base price is now $101,309, including destination, which equates to a rise of $1,919 on last year’s model. Both prices exclude the car’s $2,600 gas guzzler tax.
The 2014 SRT Viper GTS’ price remains unchanged at $122,390, once again including destination but excluding the $2,600 gas guzzler tax. Pricing information for the new addition to the Viper lineup, the 2014 Viper TA, is yet to be announced. It should fall somewhere between the prices of the base Viper and upmarket Viper GTS.
The price rise on the base Viper isn’t completely arbitrary as there has been an increase in the amount of standard equipment. For example, all Vipers now come with HD Radio, navigation, a backup camera, Uconnect infotainment and a 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system with two subwoofers. SRT has also lobbed $1,000 off the price of the Viper’s available 18-speaker sound system, which now costs you $1,995.
With most of the car's customers loading them up with fancy options we bet few will be complaining.
No changes have been made to the mechanical package, which means the car still comes with a 8.4-liter V-10 good for 640 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque. Drive is sent to the rear wheels only, via a six-speed manual transmission.
