We’ll admit to being fans of the Volvo S60 T6 R-Design sedan, as it’s a near-ideal blend of performance and comfort. As much as we like the car, however, it’s Volvo’s uber-sexy S60 Polestar concept that we’d rather have parked on our garage.

Rumor had it that Volvo was pondering production of the 508-horsepower Swedish supermodel, but that’s been neither confirmed nor fully denied by Volvo. If money is no object, however, Volvo tuner and race car builder Polestar would be happy to build you one for a mere $300,000 or so.

Word is that this particular S60 Polestar concept, shot here at this week’s Los Angeles Auto Show, was commissioned by a U.S. customer, so it may be heading to a new home at the end of the event.

We’re sure he’ll enjoy the car’s turbocharged 3.0-liter, six cylinder engine, which puts out 424 pound-feet of torque in addition to the aforementioned 508 horsepower. That’s good enough to get the car for 0 - 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds, on its way to a top speed of 186 mph.

To safely handle the extra power, the donor S60 was widened and reinforced, and a custom Öhlins suspension ensures that all four wheels (driven by a Haldex all-wheel-drive system) stay in touch with the road.
