Fans of the movie Vanishing Point will recall that a '70 Dodge Challenger R/T was the ride of choice for Kowalski, the movie's one-named hero. Well, one Dodge dealer has decided to pay homage to the film and the car by building a very limited-edition replica with the current Challenger.

By very limited, we mean all are spoken for. Sorry.

The Kowalski Edition Challenger is the brainchild of Pennsylvania Dodge dealer Bob Frederick, who owns New Wilmington Dodge. He'd ordered a few white Challenger R/Ts in 2009, in tribute to the white car in the movie, but he felt the SRT8 was a better base car for this special edition. At the time, they couldn't be ordered in white.

But the 2011 SRT8 392 Inaugural Edition Challenger can, so Frederick met with Chrysler to discuss what he wanted from the factory. He asked for SRT8 392s with the six-speed manual transmission, the stripe delete option, Bright White paint, Dark Slate SRT8 seats, Alcoa 20-inch aluminum SRT8 wheels, a navigation system, and the SRT Option Group II. He also asked that the cars have sequential VINs.

Outside of the factory options, the cars get special decals, a numbered dash plaque, a custom fender tag, a Hurst pistol grip shifter, a shift-pattern insert, Mopar chrome quad exhaust tips, a unique broadcast sheet, and reproduction Colorado license plates that match the ones from the movie.

Only 10 have been built, and like we said above, all have been spoken for. Sorry to all you Kowalskis out there.
