Ferrari says its new FF--its big premiere for the upcoming 2011 Geneva Motor Show--is its first four-wheel-drive sports car ever.

The new FF made its online debut today, in advance of the Geneva show, with the explanation that "FF" stands for four-wheel drive and four seats.

Powered by a V-12 engine, the FF also promises "incredible versatility, superb comfort and sophisticated elegance," according to the Italian supercar maker.

The V-12 displaces 6.3 liters and develops 651 horsepower at 8000 rpm. A dual-clutch F1 gearbox pushes that power through all four wheels. Ferrari explains its four-wheel-drive system distributes weight nearly perfectly (47:53) and reports it's integrated into the stability control systems.

Ferrari promises a 0-60 mph time of less than 3.7 seconds, and a top speed of 208 mph.

The FF also sports a magneto-rheological set of dampers, and carbon-ceramic brakes.

The cargo hold has a surprising 15.9 cubic feet of space, which can be expanded to 28.2 cubic feet--which seems to indicate a pass-through to the cargo area. The downside: the FF weighs a massive 3946 pounds, and is nearly as long and as wide as a Hyundai Sonata.
