MINI is big on customization. And as a child brand of BMW these days, it looks like the taste for art cars has trickled down as well. The latest creation from the brand is a Paul Weller-designed Cooper to be sold for charity.

The pink-and-black car from the British mod rocker was hand-painted by MINI craftsmen, and is due to cross the auction block today to benefit the Nordoff Robins and War Child charities. The auction is a live, global, online affair. Bidding closes in one month.

"I've always loved and driven MINIs  so when I was given the opportunity to design a bespoke Mini Cooper I wanted to create something that reflected the mood and colours associated with the Mod era, which was also the classic Mini’s hey day. I’d already expressed these colours in a shirt I designed for Ben Sherman a few years ago, so it made sense to me to continue the theme using a MINI Cooper as a palate," said Weller.

Beyond the fanciful exterior treatment, the Paul Weller MINI is pretty much standard-issue.
