Cadillac's CTS-V line of cars is one of the most exciting in the affordable luxury performance segment, offering 556 horsepower from a supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 in sedan, coupe and wagon body styles. Today Cadillac released pricing on the wagon, which starts from $62,990 when it hits lots later this year.
The CTS-V Wagon won't be for everyone, and that's by intention. “The Cadillac CTS-V Wagon is a limited production offering for connoisseurs who are interested in the unique combination of V-Series performance with wagon style and capability,” said Don Butler, vice president, Cadillac marketing.
Like its CTS-V brethren, the Wagon will be available with a six-speed manual or an optional six-speed automatic, magnetic ride control, Brembo brakes, and forged 19-inch wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires. The CTS-V Wagon can get to 60 mph in 4.0 seconds according to GM.
On top of the wicked performance of the V-series, the Wagon piles on the cargo: 58 cubic feet of storage space, to be exact. It's also available with all the luxury gear and entertainment features you'd expect, including a Bose surround sound audio system, heated leather seats, and four year/50,000-mile maintenance service. Optional upgrades include the Recaro seats found in the sedan and coupe ($3,400), bright polished 19-inch wheels ($800), and suede ($300) and Sapele wood ($800) trim packages.
If you can't wait until "later this year" for the car to reach dealerships, or if you just want a unique option combination, Cadillac is taking orders now for delivery in early 2011.
And yes, it looks like Cadillac has dropped the "sport" appellation from the name of the car as shown at the New York Auto Show earlier this year.
