Barely two weeks old, the freshly-unveiled Ferrari 458 Challenge car, based on the production 458 Italia, is already undergoing testing to help get it ready for full competition. The test site: Vallelunga. The drivers: Maurizio Mediani and Jaime Melo.

If you're a fan of ALMS racing, you may recognize Melo's name. He's a regular in the series, behind the wheel of a Ferrari F430 GT2 car run by Team Risi Competizione, where he currently sits in third in the overall GT championship with co-driver Gianmaria Bruni. “I am sure that Prancing Horse competition owners will be very pleased with this car,” said Melo of the 458 Challenge car. Mediani agrees, calling the car, "very quick and extremely good fun."
