Ever since Ferrari first unveiled the Ferrari 599XX, tifosi have been waiting to see the car in action on the track. This weekend in Valencia, the wait ended, with the first owners of the car and F1 driver Felipe Massa hitting the track for some non-homologated fun.

Since the 599XX isn't homologated for street use, it's effectively one of the most expensive and exclusive track-day toys available. So does it live up to the hype? According to Massa, yes. "I really enjoyed testing this car, I think it’s extremely powerful and has an exceptional stability. Considering that it has been planned for the track it’s really easy to drive," said the Brazilian racer.

The new owners also got some track time, after a technical presentation and an on-track lesson on the car's dynamics from Ferrari instructors.

Next up for the 599XX? A series of track events in America, Europe and Asia including the Finali Mondiali. Ferrari will provide official technicians, support and assistance with the cars at each event.
