If you can't beat him, just hire him?

That must have been Muscle Milk Pickett Racing's mantra when they decided to complete their American Le Mans Series (ALMS) driver lineup for the season opening race.  The team signed former ALMS LM P1 champion Simon Pagenaud, formerly one of their biggest rivals, to join regular drivers Klaus Graf and Lucas Luhr aboard the HPD ARX-03a LM P1 prototype for the 60th running of the Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring.

Pagenaud, newly signed to drive Sam Schmidt Motorsports' Honda-powered Dallara/Firestone in the 2012 IZOD IndyCar Series campaign, is the 2010 ALMS LM P1 champion, scoring four wins in an HPD ARX-01c for Highcroft Racing.  Since his sports car debut in 2008, Pagenaud has made 28 starts, finished on podium 21 times and scored nine wins, all with Honda Performance Development power in an HPD prototype chassis.

The 2006 Formula Atlantic champion who finished second in the 2011 24 Hours of Le Mans with the Peugeot factory team's LM P1 turbodiesel entry, Pagenaud will be on-site with Muscle Milk Pickett Racing at the ALMS Winter Test, which takes place February 8 and 9 at Sebring International Raceway.
