From the 2011 Mustang GT to the 2012 Boss 302, there's a lot to like in the new Mustang lineup. And Ford, along with several aftermarket companies, will be doing their best to improve (or ruin, depending on your perspective) the 2011 'Stang for SEMA with this small herd of ponies.

First up, we have the 2011 Mustang by MRT. Based on the 5.0-liter, 412-horsepower GT model, the MRT Mustang adds "chassis upgrades," a performance handling package, Baer brakes, and an MRT exhaust, plus what appears to be a body kit and some very large alloy wheels. It looks pretty darn good, with the custom body kit transforming the look of the Mustang without taking away from its inherently strong lines.

Next we have the Creations n' Chrome 2011 Mustang GT Convertible. Painted in bright pink with a unique body kit and some HRE Performance wheels, this car adds a Vortech supercharger, Wilwood brakes and custom graphics. The car's purpose is to benefit the American Cancer Society to raise awareness for breast cancer.

Third up is the Mobsteel Ford Mustang. Looking decidedly like a murdered-out mobster's car, the Mobsteel Mustang sports an STS Turbo remote mount turbocharger setup, Air Runner suspension, and a Magnaflow catback--but instead of starting with the GT, Mobsteel based their car on the 300-horsepower V-6 version. Fifteen-inch Baer brakes, Savini forged wheels and Pirelli tires cap the mod list.

Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords teamed up for a car that is destined for the drag strip. Fitted with a Ford Racing Parts supercharger and Kooks Custom headers, the car also gets a custom hood from Cervini, Roush fascia, and upgraded American Muscle brakes, seats and suspension. Mean, and it's sure to be quick in a straight line.

Finally, we come to the official Ford Vehicle Personalization program Mustang. While it certainly throws the entire book of custom treatments on an otherwise stock car, we have to say, it's the most garish of the group on display. Bright white paint is offset by coral highlights at every recess, on the wheels, and in the front air dam. The billet grille, rear quarter window louvres, and rear pedestal spoiler do it no favors either. Lets hope the average consumer puts together a better package if they decide to take advantage of Ford's Vehicle Personalization program.

There will be at least three other Mustangs on display at SEMA, including the Tjin Edition, one from Street Scene Equipment, and one from Raceskinz. All of them are in the gallery above. For the full details, check out the official press release on page two.

Along with customized versions of Mustang, the 2012 Mustang Boss 302 will give visitors to the Ford stand a look at the reinvented legendary road race machine from the late 1960s
Dearborn, Mich., Oct. 27, 2010 – Ford Motor Company is tapping the 2010 SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) show in Las Vegas to showcase nine customized versions of Mustang, displaying the vehicles alongside the new Mustang Boss 302.

“The 2011 model year sets a new standard for Mustang, with everything from bringing back the revered 5.0-liter V8 Mustang GT to the all-aluminum 3.7-liter engine in the Mustang V6 with 305 horsepower and 31 mpg. And it doesn’t stop for 2012, with the Mustang Boss 302 reveal and the track-ready Laguna Seca version,” said Jim Owens, Mustang brand manager. “SEMA is a great way for Ford to not only show customers what’s new for Mustang, but what they can do to make it their own Mustang.”

While the 2012 Mustang Boss 302 is sure to impress visitors at the Ford stand, a variety of Mustangs on display also will give consumers an idea of the endless possibilities for making it a one-of-a-kind pony car.

“People understand Mustang and they fall in love with the emotion of the car, but at the same time they want to bring a little of their individuality to the table,” said Melvin Betancourt, Ford design manager. “So if you’re a Mustang enthusiast looking to set your Mustang apart from others, SEMA is like going into a toy store full of inspirational imagery. At the end of the day you have a Mustang that reflects the personality of the customer’s vision.”

This Mustang GT has a look all its own
A Mustang GT by Ford Vehicle Personalization shows what can be fashioned using Ford Custom Accessories items and some serious creativity. The exterior of the car is coated in a custom white tri-coat color developed by Sherwin-Williams. The paint has coral undertones, a color used throughout the car.

“This theme is a perfect fit for Mustang – it really shows off the design features inside and out that set it apart from the rest,” said Mark Conforzi, Ford Vehicle Personalization chief designer. “This Mustang works so well because it will let the customer’s imagination run wild with just how much they can do to their car.”

Ford Custom Accessories items are used to give consumers a sense of what can be done with Mustang, and include a rear pedestal spoiler, rear quarter window louvers, side scoops and a billet grille – all covered in a concept liquid silver finish. The look is rounded out with 18-inch machined liquid silver wheels, similar to the ones standard on the California Special Mustang. The interior of the Mustang features a concept design that uses white and black Ultrafabrics material on a variety of surfaces, with inserts that resemble carbon fiber. The white material is highlighted on the seats, door inserts, steering wheel and dash appliqué. Coral accents also set the mood inside, where they are used on the steering wheel, gauge cluster, shifter knob and air vents. Interior styling also includes coral accent lighting for a unique touch.
