When it comes to the super-hot Audis being brought to the America, it’s either hit or miss. While the S-designation is available, the RS-badged cars are normally excluded. They did sell the hot RS4 and RS6 within our shores, but the RS4 was only had for 2007 and 2008 and neither were offered in the versatile Avant wagon form.
The A and S5 coupe is one of Audi’s best looking cars to date. The high-performance version comes with the reliable 4.2L FSI V-8 producing 354 horsepower. The S5 could out-do an M3 Coupe in everyday comfort, though it gave up serious performance and driving feel to do so.
Audi revealed the RS5 at this year’s Geneva Motor Show. Besides the more aggressive styling, the car got a serious power increase to 450 horsepower, nearly 100 more. Those looking for an all-wheel-drive muscle car here in the States can rest easy; Audi will indeed sell this RS model in the U.S.
In other Audi news, The R8 V-10 Spyder has gotten its official U.S. pricing as well. For the people who require a third pedal, the six speed manual will cost 161,000. Those who would rather pick whether to shift or not can get the R-tronic dual-clutch equipped Spyder for an additional $9,000. This of course excludes destination, titling and other taxes.
