Vaughn Gittin Jr is well known to those who follow the American Formula D drifting series. He almost consistently gets podium finishes in competition in The Falken Tire/Monster Ford Mustangs that prove to be very competitive in a motorsport originating from Japan. Now he’s teaming up with Ford Again, this time offering the RTR Package for the 2011 Mustang GT.
The RTR package is almost the standard Mustang tuning affair. While it gets a cold air intake, recalibration and a new exhaust system, courtesy of Ford Racing. The 412 horsepower GT is nothing to sneeze at in the first place, so the lack of any real performance upgrades can be forgiven
The really important modification is the equipped Falken FK-452 Tires. These are mounted on exclusive 19x9.5” RTR wheels and like most sticky tires increase handling and road feel substantially. The rest of the suspension is tweaked to include new shocks, springs, and sway bars.
Styling is also tweaked. Outside it gets new rocker panels, a chin spoiler, rear defuser and an aluminum rear wing, all accented by some unique stripes. The interior gets new floor mats and shift knob.
The best thing about the car is that some dealerships will start selling these modifications, and that means that the factory warranty is almost always honored. Also later this year there will be a V-6 version as well.
