You knew that when Honda released the Accord Crosstour wagon that Acura would not be far behind with a more refined version.  Well rewind back a few months before the Crosstour was announced, there you will find a European Accord Tourer Wagon.  Thankfully the TSX Sport Wagon is based off this platform and not the funny looking Crosstour.  Recently released at the New York Auto Show, the Acura Sport Wagon will be coming to US Showrooms in the fall.

Acura bills this wagon as born out of European styling and its true; the TSX Sport Wagon looks much like the Euro Accord.  This will be one of the better looking wagons on the market for the 2011 model year.  Since the wagon is still part TSX, it will have a four-wheel independent suspension which is necessary for any self-respecting luxury car.  For its first iteration, the TSX Sport Wagon will only be offered with a 2.4 liter four-cylinder engine that produces 201 horsepower and 172 lb-ft of torque.  This may seem on the skinny side but is has been proven that American car buyers are more interested in fuel economy these days.  And the TSX Wagon will be getting 21 mpg in the city and up to 30 mpg while driving on the highway.

The interior is all Acura with leather seats, brushed aluminum trim, a power moonroof, climate control, Bluetooth, and navigation, just to name a few. The real attraction of this wagon will be the huge amount of cargo room.  The wide hatch shows off the carpeted floor that also has tie-down hooks for those massive loads.  There are also removable panels and hidden compartments for added storage.

Be on the lookout for the 2011 Acura TSX Sport Wagon coming this fall.  The base price is expected to be around $32,000.
