There’s a good indication of how amazing a car tuning company is: They make an engine so powerful, they have to dial it back to make it work in a car.

That’s what Brabus, one of the world’s premier Mercedes Benz tuners, did with their latest E-Class coupe.

First they took a Mercedes Benz V-12 from the S-Class and hand built it to 6.3 liters. Then they bolted on two turbochargers. The results are a horsepower rating of 788 and a world-turning 1,047 ft lbs of torque.

But with most powerful engines, it’s only as good as the drivetrain that backs it up. In order to keep the transmission from exploding, Brabus electronically detuned the V-12 to make a limited 811 ft lbs.

It’s also never a good idea to drop an engine into a car that it never was designed for unless you go over the entire car. Brabus installed a fully adjustable suspension which can be raised or lowered by 35mm.

Brabus also makes some of the best looking Mercedes Benz body kits in the market. Every piece not stock to the E-Class Coupe is made out of carbon fiber, including the rear diffuser (watch those inclined driveways!) The carbon fiber motif is followed into the cabin’s trim pieces.

Auto Express has a price of £430,000, and no United States dollar price is available at this time.
