We’re fast approaching Mecum Auction’s Spring Classic event which once again is taking place in Indianapolis.
The event runs May 19-21 and is set to include some very rare muscle including this 1965 Ford Motor Company [NYSE:F] Shelby GT350.
It’s one of the original 100 1965 Shelby GT350s that Shelby American built for SCCA homologation. It’s car number 41, and according to Mecum it is also one of the first GT350s to be built after Shelby opened its facility near Los Angeles International Airport.

Its engine is the familiar 289 cubic inch V-8, which delivers 306 horsepower and is mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. The car also comes with full documentation including two Shelby LAX invoices, two shipping invoices, warranty repair invoices and an owner’s manual autographed by Carroll Shelby.
1967 Shelby Cobra
The Shelby GT350 is one of 17 cars from the Joe McMurrey Collection, which also includes this sweet 1967 Shelby Cobra. This is car with chassis number CSX3295. It features a 427 ci V-8 paired with a 4-speed transmission.

The Shelby Cobra also comes with full documentation including a comprehensive history in the official Shelby Registry and the original invoice and owner’s manual.
As usual, the auction is open to everyone. General admission tickets available at the gate are $30 per person per day or $100 for a five-day pass; children aged 12 and younger have free admittance.
