Subaru has dropped prices on its BRZ sports car, with the latest 2016 model starting at just $26,190, including a $795 destination charge. That’s down about $300 on pricing for the previous model year, and it’s even down on pricing for the 2013 model year when the BRZ was launched.
You can thank the U.S. dollar’s strength against the yen for the curb in prices (the BRZ is manufactured in Japan), and if you’re looking to save even more you could always opt for the car’s Scion FR-S twin which for 2016 is priced from $26,075, including a $770 destination charge.

Both cars are powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder boxer engine, which, we’re sad to report, has seen no upgrades since launch. The engine is rated at 200 horsepower and 151 pound-feet of torque and is paired with a six-speed manual as standard. A six-speed automatic is available.
2016 Subaru BRZ
The base BRZ, the Premium, is well equipped coming standard with Subaru’s Starlink infotainment system with 6.2-inch display, a reversing camera, plus HD and satellite radio. This model is fitted exclusively with the manual transmission.
Should you want the automatic, you’ll need to opt for the pricier Limited model. The Limited is priced from $28,190 with the manual and $29,290 with the automatic. Both figures include the same $795 destination charge. Some of the extras fitted to the Limited model are a body-color trunk spoiler, fog lights and Alcantara and leather trim.
